Chicken Wing Truth Bombs

It’s GAME DAY baby!

There are more chicken wings eaten during Game Day than any other day of the year, by millions!  I love wings but I despise how bad the average wing is for your body.  So I wanted to share some truth bombs with you to help you navigate your way to optimum health despite the treacherous terrain of the average chicken wing experience this game day and beyond!

 

Warning:  This info may make you never want to eat another “standard” chicken wing ever again.

 

Truth Bomb #1: 

Because of the improper raising practices followed by so many conventionally raised farms, before those chicken wings ever get to the restaurant or store where the average consumer buys them from, they are significantly toxic to your health.  Most, meaning 99%, of the baby chicks that those wings come from are commercially raised on grains and soy.  Much if not nearly all of which are genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

These chickens are also eating too many other things they shouldn’t be eating such as candy, yes candy, and sometimes even other chickens’ parts.  Gross, right?!  These practices are performed in order to fatten them up fast before they are sold off from the farmer, creating bigger profits for the farmer in a shorter time frame. 

 

Truth Bomb #2: 

Due to the enormity of grains the chickens consume during their short lifetime, they carry higher levels of omega 6 fatty acids.  This is important because it elevates your omega-6 fatty acid intake and the typical human needs an average intake of 1 omega-6 fatty acid to 1 omega-3 fatty acid or a ratio of 1. 

Sadly, due to the enormity of grains, sugars, and the usage of an abundance of refined seed and vegetable oils, our population now consumes an average intake of 16 omega-6 fatty acids to 1 omega-3 fatty acid.  That’s a 16:1 ratio!  No wonder we are all so sad, sick, inflamed, have heart problems and are way too fat.  These foods we are eating are literally killing us slowly and painfully.  But don’t lose hope friends, there definitely is hope!

 

Truth Bomb #3: 

Aside from the diet of the commercially-raised chicken that is bad enough, the chickens receive regular courses of antibiotic treatments throughout their lifetime to keep from getting sick due to the poor living conditions they are raised in.  Because they live in such confined quarters with other chickens, the abundance of germs they are exposed to is constant and sets them up to get sick and die.  When they die they are considered lost revenue to the farmer and agriculture industry as a whole. 

Now, when you consume this chicken, you are consuming these low-grade levels of antibiotics as well each time you eat this kind of quality of poultry.  This is terribly unhealthy for your gut health, disrupts your balance of gut flora and healthy bacteria levels making you less resistant to germs and over time, slowly depletes your immune system.  You do not need to be eating low levels of antibiotics on a regular basis friend.

 

Truth Bomb #4: 

You know when you get around certain people they just make you feel so fantastic?  Or how about being around people that suck the positive energy right out of you?  That is called transference of energy and it happens all the time, everywhere in every living thing.  Since the chickens have endured literally a lifetime of chronic stress due to the CAFOs (conventional animal feeding operations) that they have only ever lived in, you can bet that they carry a really low frequency of energy.  After all, the subpar, inhumane living environments that no animal, much less one fit for human consumption should spend any moment of time in is all they ever know. 

This chronic stress has totally disrupted their nervous and hormone systems resulting in a less than nutrient dense source of fuel as well as a low energy and vitality food source that doesn’t add much to help you feel great, be healthy and thrive from.  Ever hear the phrase, “you are what you eat?”.  Yeah, consider that for just a second.  When you eat this type of chicken, you are consuming their stresses and other negative energy that they experienced and nobody wants any more of that now do they?

 

Truth Bomb #5: 

Like those aren’t enough reasons to make you avoid another wing I have one more for you.  Chicken wings are typically covered in gluten-filled wheat or white flour, which I recommend that no one eat.  I discuss gluten in greater detail in my 7 Day Detox Program.  Then the wings are fried in a vegetable or seed-based oil, which I talked about in my Healthy Lifestyle Tip#1 in the previous section.  This leads to more oxidative stress to your body, more omega-6 fatty acids, more toxicity and inflammation and illness. 

 

The Solution: 

Buy organic chicken and make your own wings.  Better yet, find your local organic farmer through this awesome app or this website and support your local farmer who is working hard to produce high quality, awesome food for you, your family and community.  But Monica, it’s more expensive.  Yes, it is because not enough people know how bad our food system has become and just how terrible the food quality has gotten in the last 50 years.  The more people that learn the truths about our food, the more they will use their dollars to buy more high-quality food and less of the junk and low-quality food that is making and keeping them sick.  Then the prices should go down due to the demand, supply and demand is a beautiful thing. 

If you don’t have the money to upgrade your food quality, reprioritize your spending habits, trade in your car for one that has a smaller monthly payment or take the bus or walk to work!  You’ll get in your exercise too!  Get another job to pay for better quality food if you have to, give up Starbucks (it’s low quality ingredients anyway!), have a yard sale and buy 10 whole organic chickens to stash in a $150 chest freezer for months of good quality chicken (and bones for bone broth baby!).
