Functional Movement Assessment & Consultation

The human body moves the most efficiently when it is aligned in structure and then supported with a well-balanced system of bones, nerves, and muscles.  By design, we should be structurally aligned well with great posture, a strong core to support it and movement all throughout the day.

A lot has changed in our society that forces us to get very little movement in our everyday life.  This is creating a whole new problem in our health that no pill, potion or surgery can ever or will ever be able to change.

You were meant to move and move often.  Sitting is the new smoking but standing is not going to train your body to move well, it is just going to negate the ill effects of sitting all the time which yes is certainly better than sitting all the time but movement is so much more than that. seated positions or just not being as well trained to handle the movements and physical challenges that come with living life, the body can quickly develop compensating movement patterns that end up causing pain, dysfunction, and weakness.

When it comes to the ability to move well, I often tell my clients “if you don’t move it, you lose it”.  seated positions or just not being as well trained to handle the movements and physical challenges that come with living life, the body can quickly develop compensating movement patterns that end up causing pain, dysfunction, and weakness.

What I mean is that if you stop moving your body often and appropriately with the support and recovery that it needs then much sooner than later you will develop the inability to move well at all.  Your body can quickly develop compensating movement patterns that end up causing pain, dysfunction, and weakness.

In a Functional Movement Assessment and Consultation, we will figure out the root of your movement dysfunctions, pains, aches, and inabilities to move well.  We begin with the consultation where we discuss your specific goals, problem areas, health history, and lifestyle factors. You will then go through a series of movements and exercises to identify your current movement abilities, inabilities, strengths, and weaknesses. Some of the things included in this assessment include:

  • Postural analysis
  • Gait analysis
  • Balance assessments
  • Core function tests
  • Muscular endurance tests
  • Strength assessments

At the end of your 90-minute session, we will discuss your options to move forward with all of the information we have gathered during your assessment.  At this time you have the opportunity to invest in 1-on-1 Functional Movement Training sessions with me and/or an Online Personal Training package to guide you towards success towards your goals.

The Functional Movement Assessment and Consultation is a 90-minute appointment and is $150.
